Dr. Seuss Kassisieh (pronounced Kasa-see-ya) received his doctor of dental surgery (D.D.S.) degree from the University of Iowa where he graduated in the top of his class and was elected to Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the national dental honor society. Since graduating, he has been affectionately called "Dr. Seuss." He welcomed the nickname after hearing people struggle over the years to pronounce his Arabic surname. Dr. Seuss went on to earn an M.S. degree and his specialty certificate in orthodontics from Baylor, recognized as one of the top orthodontic programs in the country. Dr. Seuss is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Arizona Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontists, the Arizona Orthodontic Association (past president), and the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists. In addition, he is actively involved with the Scottsdale/Paradise Valley Dental Club (past president), the Orthodontic Club of Phoenix, as well as the Angle Society. Drawn to Arizona by his family and the state's natural beauty, Dr. Seuss and his family enjoy playing golf, skiing, cycling, hiking, running, traveling, cooking and dining out.
